This pair of detailed 16 field 3-peghole background layout drawings features Merlin’s Study drawn in blue pencil and labeled: Prod. 2138 Seq 8 Scene 8; and Prod. 2138 Seq. 8 Scene 15. The detail is stunning on these two pieces.
There are also animation drawings of Merlin and Archimedes on one, and Merlin sitting in his chair on the other. The animation drawings were trimmed to image and at one time were registered and taped to the layout drawing. They have since come loose. Merlin and Archimedes have been taped to an acetate overlay for presentation purposes on their layout. Background layouts from this animated feature film are quite scarce. Merlin is 6″ and 8″ respectively. Minor handling, with pinholes, and edge wear, with a hardly noticeable bit of abrasion where the taped figures original were.
