This original rough animation drawing of Ariel was created by a Disney animator in development of a scene in the animated feature. It was drawn for the scene in Ariel’s undersea treasure house of surface world artifacts during her confrontation with her father, King Triton. He admonishes her for rescuing “a human from drowning” and she responds in defense of her prince: “You don’t even know him.”
The circled number “5” appears on the back of the sheet.
